Harry Hammond Obituary
BISHOPVILLE — Harry W. Hammond Sr., 75, of Bishopville died Monday, May 28, 2012, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Bishopville and was the son of the late Thomas and Viola (Quillen) Hammond.
He had been a carpenter and poultry grower for many years and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Hammond; a son, Harry W. Hammond Jr.; a daughter, Teresa H. Willey and her husband, Horace; a brother, Thomas Hammond; and a granddaughter, Allison P. Willey, all of Bishopville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton Hammond, Lemuel Hammond Clarence Hammond; and two sisters, Nancy Lathbury and Evelyn Godwin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with the Rev. Dean Perdue officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home an hour before the service. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Showell Volunteer Fire Department for the Cadet Program, 11620 Worcester Highway, Showell, Md. 21862.
