Jesse Ross Obituary
Berlin-Jesse Ross, 80, of here died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC. Born in Wilson County, NC, he was the son of the late Roland Ross and Ella Bostic Ross.
Mr. Ross was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Berlin where he was a former trustee and member of the Methodist Men and Tri-State Men's Fellowship. He was also a member of the Masonic Lincoln Lodge #53, American Legion Duncan Showell Post #231, and Improved Benevolent and Protective Order Elks of the World, Inc. Queen City Lodge #1051 and Council #76 of the Eastern Shore.
He served in the United States Army. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Local Union 782 in Seaford, DE.
He will be lovingly remembered by: two daughters, Jessica D. Best and Melissa D. Robbins; one brother, James A. Ross; one sister, Ella Mae (Hinnant-Ross) Webb; two foster brothers, Tony Hinnant and Anthony L. Hinnant; one foster sister, Patricia Hinnant Steward; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vivian Ross, two brothers, Ernest Lee Bryant and Roland Ross, Jr., and one foster brother, Elton Hinnant.
Mr. Ross will lie in repose on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 9 to 10 AM at New Bethel United Methodist Church, 10203 Germantown Road, Berlin. On Tuesday, fraternal rites will be performed at 7 PM. On Wednesday, the funeral service will begin at 10 AM. Rev. Dr. Helen B. Lockwood will be the Officiating Pastor. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Eastern Shore, 6827 East New Market Ellwood Road, Hurlock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury.
