Jim Davis Obituary

James E "Jim" Davis, Sr

Westminster, MD-James E "Jim" Davis, Sr of Westminster, MD passed away at the Dove House Guest Hospice on Monday April 27th at age 80.

He was born on May 5th, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late James Milford Davis and Helene Emma "Helen" Sohrbeck Davis. He was predeceased last year by his sister, Bette Davis.

He graduated from Preston High School with the class of 1953, honorably served in the United States Navy and graduated from Salisbury Teachers College in 1961. He was a former member of Saint Francis De Sales Church in Salisbury as well as Loch Lynn Church of God in Oakland, MD.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Davis of Westminster, and his children, Jed Davis of Sykesville, Mary Davis Harfst of Shippensburg, Stewart Davis of Salisbury and Helene Davis Forian, of Salisbury. He is also survived by stepchildren Karen Radford of Westminster, Sheri Winger of Mount Airy, Terri Westcott of Gaithersburg and Richard Remson of Frederick. Step son Ricky Remson preceded him in death. Jim and Betty have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he loved them all dearly. He is also survived by his friend and former spouse Peg Flannery Bauer.

A memorial service will be held on his birthday, Tuesday May 5th, 3pm at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldersburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, you might prayerfully consider a donation to the Dove House Hospice in Westminster MD.
