Joel Trower Obituary
Salisbury-Joel M. Trower (Jody, J.T.), 69 of Salisbury, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Cape Charles, VA, he was the son of the late Milton and Carrie (Satchel) Trower.
He was a 1962 graduate of Northhampton High School in Eastville, VA. Upon graduation, he relocated to Stamford, CT and became employed with Clairol. In 1966 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War, receiving an honorable discharge in 1968.
After his discharge, he returned to Clairol, retiring as a Supervisor in 2005.
Joel was a devoted member of New Dimensions Ministries in Salisbury where he served as member of the Deacons, Ushers, Sanctuary Choir, Intercessory Prayer Group, Greeter's Ministry and was active in other ministries in the church.
He was also a member of a Masonic Lodge in Ct.
His survivors include his wife Darlene Trower of Salisbury; one daughter: Tiffany (Clint) Trower Williams, of Stratford, CT a son: James Corey Langley of Danbury, CT; three stepchildren: Tywuan, Latasha and Michael Johnson of Longneck, DE; two granddaughters: Kaytlyn Trower and Summer Williams; one stepgrandson: Brayden Johnson; three sisters, three brothers and a host of nieces and nephews.
Eleven siblings preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at New Dimensions Ministries where friends may call one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the ALS Foundation for Life or New Dimensions Ministries Building Fund, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD.
Services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
