Charles Cox Obituary

Russel Cox passed away peacefully on Sunday October 12, 2025, at his home in Centennial, CO. Russel was 71 years old.
Russel will be laid to rest in a service with full Military Honors at Fort Logan Cemetery, Denver, CO on Thursday November 20, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will also be held for family and friends at the Pea Green Hall on Saturday November 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Russel graduated from Olathe High School in 1972. After graduation Russel joined the Army where he trained as a Chemical Staff Specialist. Russel spent 18 months in Panama and was injured in a Army accident in the jungle. He competitively shot with the 5th Army Shooting Team and was hand picked for the All Army Shooting Team. After his military service Russel worked construction, then went to University of Colorado where he earned a Master Degree in Engineering. Upon graduation, Russel worked for 16 years for the Colorado of Department of Transportation where he developed two patents on cable protection sleeves for rock fall.
Russel always looked forward to the family celebrations and was known for his famous Oyster Stew on Christmas eve. Russel's garden was the talk of the neighborhood and he loved to share his abundance with friends and family. Russel is survived by his three sisters; Karen Decker (Paul) of Castle Rock, CO, Sharon Marquez (Steve) of Olathe, CO, and Lori Baker (John) of Olathe, CO. Russel was preceded in death by his parents Duain and Neomi Cox.
