Deborah Howland

1943 - 2025

Beloved mother and grandmother, massage therapist, caregiver died peacefully in her sleep on August 18th at the age of 82. She was born on March 28,1943 in Washington, DC to Thielo and Dorothy Howland. She is survived by her son, Jared Davis, his wife Nicole, residing in Crawford, CO; daughter Katherine "Kate" Campise, who resides in Carbondale, CO; daughter Nash Cohen, who resides in Minturn, CO; and her brothers John and Drew Howland. She leaves five grandchildren: Jiah Cohen, Rylan Davis, Sebastian Davis, Sophia Campise and Grace Campise.
Deborah moved from New York City to Carbondale in the early 1970's, built a house and raised her family there. She moved to Crawford in 1999, where she remained for the rest of her life.
She is remembered by her family and friends as a kind and loving soul with an open and huge heart who lived her life with Buddhist inspired compassion, care and spiritual well-being. When a friend or neighbor was in need, Deborah could be relied on to provide assistance. She donated massage to help support hospice workers. She found peace in meditation, hosted visiting Tibetan monks and spiritual leaders and followed Guru Baba Muktananda. She loved her children, grandchildren and family, Colorado country, horses and her cats and dogs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
