Michael Sawicki

Michael Sawicki passed away in his home and refuge on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was 73 years old. Mike lived, and passed on, midway between Paonia and Hotchkiss, perched above the valley floor halfway between heaven and earth.

Our dear friend passed "over the Rainbow Bridge" in the same manner that he lived; courageously, independently, humbly and lovingly. He will be sorely missed by all of those he knew and helped.

Mike spent his life "contemplating the universe" and selflessly helping others. He was generous, kind, thoughtful, mechanical and wise beyond words. Mikey's greatest pleasures in life were collecting treasures and gifting them to the perfect person.

Mike was a master mechanic, motorcycle builder, deep thinker, machinist, and master tinkerer. His patience, experience, deep understanding allowed him to fix any and all mechanical problems!

Mike was preceded in death by his dearly beloved, his soulmate and twin flame, his Darlin, Lorraine Ferrero. He can now rejoin her in heaven. They can support and love one another once again.

We thank Mikey, the Spiritual warrior for his imparted knowledge, his wisdom, his thoughtful gifts. His timeless teachings, stories and lessons inspired many to lead more conscientious lives.

The world will be a better place if we ask ourselves before we act.. "What Would Mikey Do?'
