Patrick Ray Wingfield passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at St Mary's Hospital. Patrick was the second child out of six children born to James and Betty Lou (Smith) Wingfield of Vinita, Oklahoma.
Patrick grew up in several areas of Oklahoma, and after graduating high school he joined the Navy. He served on the USS Blue Ridge as a radarman. After serving in the Navy Patrick worked and lived in Texas before finally settling in Colorado where he worked as a coal miner until he retired.
Pat liked to play golf, go fishing at Lake Powell with his family, tinker in his shop and garden and build things with his hands. He enjoyed spending time with his family and animals. He was known to tell jokes and pull pranks on those he loved.
Pat is survived by his wife, Patricia, his seven children, and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Jeff.
Military Honors will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10 a.m.
