Lubbock - Lula "Lu" Marie Bishop
JUNE 30, 1931 - MAY 8, 2021
Lula Marie Bishop, born to Norman Wade King and Una Mae Middlebrooks King on June 30,1931, in Point Breeze/Fort Worth, TX, passed away on May 8, 2021, in Lubbock Texas. She attended Deming Public Schools, in Deming, NM, graduating from Deming High School in 1948.
Lu worked in the Tax Assessor Office, USDA-ASCS, and USDA Farmer's Home Administration, and retired from the USDA Farm Service Agency. She also received her license to sell real estate.
Lula and Joe W. Bishop married December 21, 1948. Together they raised 6 children: Janna Jackson (Sam), Susan Tolbert (Harvey), David Bishop (Robin Pryor), Connie Viverette (Charles), Billie Lu Billett, and Gina Garcia (Tim).
Grandchildren are Hayes Jackson (Amber), Brindle Osborn (Richard), Matthew Davis, Jennifer Bishop Tidwell (David), Kristen Bishop Leonard (Keith), Whitney Viverette, Amy Viverette Lugo (Jonathan), Austin Billett (Carianne), and Kyle Billett (Michaela).
Great-grandchildren are Taight Jackson, Starlynn Davis, Varina Davis, Jacob Tidwell, Claire Tidwell, Bishop Leonard, Thomas Leonard, Isabelle Leonard, Phoenix Lugo, Owen Billett, and Collin Billett.
Lula is also survived by her sister, Norma Burling.
Graveside services will be at Mountain View Cemetery, in Deming, NM at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 12, 2021. Arrangements are being handled by Resthaven, in Lubbock and Baca's Funeral Chapels, in Deming. The service will be live-streamed by Baca's Funeral Chapel.
