Silver City - It is with heavy hearts; the Lopez family wishes to announce the unexpected passing of Oscar C. Lopez of Deming and Silver City NM. Mr. Lopez entered eternal life on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born on April 24, 1939 in Deming, New Mexico to Julian R and Eunice Chavez Lopez.
Mr. Lopez was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. God blessed him with one son, two loving daughters, 13 grandkids, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. At a young age Oscar enlisted in the United States National Guard where he served for 10 years and was awarded a certificate for honorable and satisfactory service. During his lifetime, he worked in Deming at the Deming Coca-Cola Plant and Alvarez Plumbing and in Silver City at J & S Plumbing and Silver City Plumbing. Oscar was recognized for his master plumbing skills and his hard-work ethic, which he passed on to his son.
Oscar was always so proud of children, his son for following his footstep as a Plumber and owning his own plumbing company and his daughters for their love, devotion, can do attitude and unconditional love. He cherished his grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids the most. The highlight of his life was being outdoors on hunting trips, fishing trips and archery competitions with family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by those whose life he touched. He was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church and a past member of the Santa Ana's Men's Club.
Loved ones that will miss Oscar until they meet again are his wife of 65 years Susana Aguirre Lopez, son Arturo (Norma Saenz) Lopez of Las Cruces, NM and daughters Alice (Arthur) Reyes of Deming, NM and Molly (Jimmy Lessau) Lopez of Silver City, NM and two brothers Danny Lopez of Las Cruces, NM and Ernesto (Teresa) Lopez of Deming, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Mr. Lopez are his parents Julian R Lopez and Eunice Chavez Lopez, his Sisters Margarita Aguilera, Amalia Jackson, Evelyn Marquez and Lucille Ganaway.
A private family viewing has been held and cremation will take place, at his request. A public funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24th at 10:00 am at the CitiLife Church in Deming. A private Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for blessing our lives with a man of love, faith, kindness, courage, strength, and hard worker. We know we have another beautiful angel above to watch over us.
