I am shocked and so saddened by the death of this wonderful, vibrant, intelligent, caring woman. I was fortunate enough to have taught at East High School with Amy, but I have been retired for many years, and we have lost touch with one another. I remember her competing for a place on the Jeopardy program and the excitement that brought for all of us. The students in Rochester City Schools have definitely lost a wonderful, compassionate, bright teacher. My condolences to her entire family.

I really never got the chance to tell her how she influenced me to do better in school and I will always keep the memories of her in my heart to help guide my way. My thoughts and prayers are with hher entire family. I will miss you dearly

I worked with Amy at East HIgh. She was a push-in teacher in two of my 9th Grade Global History classes. She was great to work with and you knew that she cared about all the students. It has been a few years since I have seen her, however she is someone that always brought a smile to my face when I thought of her.

It has been years since I saw Amy, but once you meet her she was a person you couldn't forget. She was very talent and gifted teacher but before she began teaching she was a Paraprofessional with the City School District. I was President of the Para Union at that time and asked her and her side kick Michelle Henson to come to Washington, DC to represent the Paras. We had a wonderful time! I will always remember her with fondness and respect. May God Bless you all.

I did not know Amy well, however, my family and I have been neighbors of hers for for over 20 years. (My mom lives on Madison Terr. and I now live on Anchor Terr.) We just recently found out about her battle with cancer and her passing. Anytime I hear stories like hers my heart breaks so I just wanted to send prayers and thoughts to her family from mine.
I am always saddened to hear about good people gone too soon.

I met Amy many years ago through my good friend Cyndi, and have had several opportunities through the years to be in her company and witness the incredible friendship between her, Cyndi, Donna and Patty. I always admired Amy for her approach to life - no matter how scary it got, she met each day with grace and courage, and always took time to encourage and support others. She will always be one of my heroes, and my heart goes out to her family and friends.

I remember when Amy and I both started at East in September of 1996. She was a great resource and quickly became a great friend. She has left an indelible mark on the lives of many people. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I was blessed to know Amy all my life. As I grew up, she became like a second mother to me, but one with a unique ability to also be a trusted friend. I would not be the woman, mother, or person I am today if it were not for her influence in my life. Her strength and courage in fighting cancer were merely an extension of the unwavering ferocity with which she tackled all other obstacles in her life. Her grace, perseverence, and sweet smile will forever be with me. Girls, you know I love you all and feel your loss acutely.

Amy and I taught an inclusion class together the first year I taught English at East High. She was remarkable and taught me more about teaching than any college course could ever do. We developed a wonderful working relationship and friendship, and I admired her creativity, humor, diplomacy, devotion, and intelligence. I know that her spirit lives on in all of the many, many lives she touched over the years. What a treasure she was to all of us!
