Bonnie Jessup Obituary
Brighton - December 6, 2017. Born February 20, 1941 to Stewart J. and Dorothy (née Swank) Comfort in Rochester, NY. Bonnie graduated from Brighton High School and RIT School of Business then married her handsome Marine, John Jessup, becoming the light of his life and beloved mother to their only daughter. She was a long time employee of Market Sense of Brighton. She became a passionate tennis player as a member of Midtown Tennis Club for many years, and later the Tennis Club of Rochester. Bonnie also loved to sew, running her own small business in her later years crafting high quality doll clothes and original outfits. She was known for her beautiful smile and warm disposition, and many benefited from her generosity and genuine care for her community. Her adventurous spirit and fun-loving nature will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Dorothy Comfort; husband of 53 years, John Ralph Jessup; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Vikki Comfort; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Comfort; brother-in-law, Roland Brotz; and son-in-law Robert Donovan. Bonnie leaves behind her daughter, Susan Donovan; sister, Patricia Brotz; brother, Dennis Comfort; and grandsons, Jack, Rory, and Cooper Donovan.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 12 at 1 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.) In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to The John Paul II Medical Research Institute; for more information and ways to donate, please go to http://www.jp2mri.org. I fondly remember playing street softball with the gang on Susquehanna Rd. And Bonnie was a super athlete even back then. Such great memories and I'm so saddened with her passing.
