I have so much to say about Carl, however I'm sure I'm limited in what I can post. So Ill be short.... Here we go this is difficult for me as it seems Carl has been on my mind so much as of late. Denice I know you will understand when I say that I have felt Carl's presence in several of my meditative journey's. I truly believe he is communicating to me that first of all he is ok now, and also the recurring message telling me to remain strong and continue to fight and beat Syringromelia and the other issues I have to deal with. Its a comfort to know my Best friend is still around but in another realm. Well it all started at West Ridge Elementary School in 1970 btw " your Song" was released the same year. So two great things happened in that year which will always be in the history books. Elton John's first top ten hit in the USA and that sweet quiet young man until he met that Jimmy Squirrell !!! Sorry Mrs. (Mom) (She loved and disciplined me like I was hers :) ) Shuba. I'm 52 and don't believe Joan could come out of my mouth I respect her and love her and well that's that. So many memories that I could write a book but I wont today. He was always there for me whenever I need him most. through all the times spent together as children, teenagers, our young adult life(We still acted like teenagers lol) even when I moved thousands of miles away, Carl and I remained as close as we could. From the days of our favorite football players "ROMAN GABRIEL" to 'THE JUICE"... THE YANKEES AND THE PHILLIES.....THE BILLS AND YA THE EAGLES !!!!!!! to many many other things we always loved and respected each other......I miss you on this earth my friend... happy and good times is what I will always remember. plus he was the loyalist friend ever. how appropriate that I ran across this today.......thinking of you my oldest and dearest friend ever on 04/20/2018 !!!!! ONE LOVE AND PEACE !!!!!

All my thoughts and prayers are with your mom and sister, and family & close friends. So many memories have gone through my mind from high school these last few days of you, and classes we had together, and your insane hysterical sense of humor!! You got me in trouble so many times because I would never stop laughing once you started whispering to me in class and you could compose yourself . But MOST of all, when I was 18 or 19, not such nice guys from the city had rolled up on my and a girlfriend walking on Long Pond and they were trying to get us in their car, we were very frightened, and you were OUR ANGEL!!! You many have saved our lives that night!!! You just happened to show up and yelled our names and they sped away! You calmed us down, and drove us to safety! It was a night that could have ended very differently, and I never forgot it or YOU!! Rest in Peace sweet friend. Love Jill Crowley

My prayer is for peace for Carl and his family. He was such a fun person to be around. I loved hanging out with him while covering stories back in the late 80's and early 90's--we were "competitors" but we all were in it together and had fun while doing our jobs! God bless

Deeply saddened by Carl's passing. Neither time nor distance can dilute the joy and laughter that he brought to my life. Such an absolutely cheerful guy - definitely a character! His vitality and enthusiasm will always be fondly remembered. I am lucky to have known him.
