Some of the happiest years of my childhood include making the April Vacation trips to Rochester, N.Y., and seeing our beloved relatives. Rochester seemed so sunny and appealing with myriad parks and flower gardens, community spirit, Wegman's Market, Naum Brothers department stores, Don and Bob's restaurant, great radio stations like WHAM and WBBF, terrific ice cream places, and with a special person who made a tremendous difference in our lives: Aunt Ceil.
Her warmth, intelligence, great listening skills and wonderful sense of humor were just a fraction of the sterling humanity she graced us with -- and that will always be remembered. She and Lou made a great team, and we loved their split level home with the awesome television room downstairs. No matter where Ceil was, however, she made you feel at home just with her very presence. She was one of those people who you could hardly wait to see. I wish we could have seen her more in the latter years, but seeing her at our wedding really made our special day even that more special.
I don't think you ever knew what a huge influence you were in my life, but just those few visits a year were enough to create happy lifelong memories that reside in my mind several times a month, to this very day. We will greatly miss you, Ceil.

I was terribly saddened to hear the news about Aunt Ceil. She was an
incredibly warm, nice person who I always looked forward to seeing on
my trips to Rochester growing up. She had such a terrific sense of
humor (and a laugh that was about the greatest you'll ever hear!) and a
true graciousness that always made me feel good when I was visiting
with her. I'll miss her greatly.
