When I reflect on my time at Xerox, Chuck Winship is one of the people that comes into my mind. We worked together on a lot of project from the 3600 family on thru the Lakes program . Good times and successes, I treasure my memories of Chuck and his unique style of management.

Chuck was a great guy and he encouraged the best from people! And he was always good about getting things accomplished. Some of my best home brew was created from boiled sap provided by the Sugarbush Hollow evaporator and then packed with sap from the collection tanks. We did several seasons of this recipe. Chuck was a great mentor and coach.

I will remember Chuck forever. He has been an omnipresent figure in the history of my life from high school and beyond. Chuck was the dad in the 'hood we could talk to and the friend later in life who I could look up to. Seeing Chuck when I would visit was always a highlight, especially at the Fiddlers Fair or the Fairport Market. Chuck, it meant so much to me that you would introduce me to your friends and customers a your friend 'Biff' and that you always took the time to tell people where I was currently living and what I was doing. Your pride in me meant the world to me. Thanks again...

Dori and families, It was with great sadness that I learned of Chucks passing. Chuck was a man that I wish I had more time to spend with. He was generous with his knowledge and had enthusiasm that was infectious. It is because of Chuck that I kept focused on the farm and the potential for maple syrup production. I will be thinking of him and you all whenever I am working in the sugar shack. Peace be with you.

When I think about growing up on Waterford Way, I remember the annual street picnics over across the creek, and I know that Mr. Winship was a big part of the organizing of the event. Even now, 45 years later, I couldn't call him Chuck because of the great respect I have for him. Sorry to have lost touch for so long. My sympathy to Dori, John, and all who loved him.

I am grateful to have met and worked with Chuck...his humor, wisdom and capacity to find the optimal use of a resource, as he did with Sugarbush Hollow, was just brilliant. His energy and knowledge, not to mention his laugh, will be missed by many.

Chuck,
It was a shock. For some reason, I just thought you'd be around for a long time. Four weeks ago, I lost my wife of 55 years. You were both bright spots. Both of you are missed.

Chuck - we'll miss you so much. Your place at Fairport Farmers Market will be empty, not because you aren't here, but because your heart and spirit fill the space and kept all of us proud of what we do. Your laughter and joking made a crazy busy time happy and fun. We'll try to carry your laughter with us.

When I was transferred by Xerox from Atlanta to Rochester, Chuck was one of the first people I met. Funny & friendly, yet serious and goal minded. He convinced me that I needed to live in Fairport. I saw him in a Fairport parade leading/riding a 10 man scooter. On the few times I went to the Fairport Farmers Market - there he was with maple syrup & maple sugar - and a big grin! It was a great honor to know him. Condolences to his family - but I know he lives on their hearts.

My prayers are with Chuck's family. My adventures at Xerox with Chuck were always memorable. He had a zest for life and what he could contribute rather than what he could take. I will always remember his dedication, spirit and love of life. I know he rests in peace with his God.

Chuck was a giving and caring man who is going to be missed by so many people. We all lost a great and knowledgeable person with him gone. I did not get the chance to learn much from him but he did teach me to fight. When the fight is done to just go with the higher powers. I will miss you Chuck but will carry you in my heart always.

We extend our condolence to Chuck's family, friends and Pam. Chuck was a very giving person and did do much to promote the forestry industry in our area. His special efforts to include the Springwater Fire Dept. in the spring sugar harvest was very generous. He did a lot to help mentor many people in various aspects of the maple sugar and forestry business. He will be missed.
