Daniel E. Richardson
Parma - Suddenly on January 6, 2018. Predeceased by his parents, Morris & Eleanor; brother, Gary. Survived by his loving wife, Carol (Root) Richardson; children, Heather (Brett) Berry, Amanda (Paul) Kodanko, Daniel Richardson, Emily Richardson, Joseph (Katie) Flanagan, James Flanagan, Amy (Jeff) VerHulst, Molly Flanagan, Sarah (Denis) Zimmerman, Charles Flanagan; 14 grandchildren; sister, Judy (Karl) Kunker; loving extended family & community of friends.
Dan Richardson was one of those rare individuals who is not afraid to innovate and try new things. He coupled his business acumen and success with generosity and a strong commitment to this community. Together with his wife Carol owns Braddock Bay Tavern & Grill and was the former operator of the family businesses, Hamilton Manor and Latta Road Nursing Homes. He was a long-standing business member of the Greece Chamber of Commerce and a former leader of both the Chamber Board of Directors and the Chamber Charitable Foundation Board of Directors - playing a key role in shaping the latter. He was an active member of the Greece Rotary, the Greece Regional Chamber, and the Chamber Foundation Board.
Additionally, Dan was a Boy Scout Leader, served as President of the Greece School Board, chaired the Easter Seal Society of Western New York, served on the board of St. Joseph's Villa, and the board of Lakeside Health Systems. When not working or investing in the community, Dan enjoyed astronomy, hunting, camping, gardening, flying small aircraft, making excellent wines, and entertaining the many grandchildren.
Dan's visitation will be held 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Thursday, January 11th at the Bartolomeo & Perotto funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 & Long Pond Rd). His funeral service will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, January 13th at First Bible Baptist Church, 990 Manitou Rd, Hilton, NY 14468. For more information, visit www.bartolomeo.com
