Please accept my condolences on the lost of your dad. David was an interpreter who many interpreters appreciated his deep and vast knowledge in interpreting. I have attended workshops with David and attended workshops which he taught. In addition to using his website, The Interpreter’s Friend, many times over the years. He will truly be missed.

Dear Gavi and Yosi and Elisheva,
I never met you but your Dad talked to me of you many, many times with pride and love. I am so sorry that you have lost your father. It is too soon! I wanted you to know that he was a wonderful friend to me and my husband for many years. He was in our wedding ceremony nineteen years ago and was with us after the birth of each of my three children. He loved my kids and I have photos of him holding them and feeding them when they were little. I think he must have a been a lovely abba. I know he was a faithful, very patient and loving son, too. I cherished our friendship of more than twenty years. I will miss knowing that he is in this world with us. Yet, I know that he was a faith-filled man and that we will see one another again one day soon.
Please accept my condolences at the passing of your dearly beloved father. sincerely, Phoebe King

David was passionate about his work. He created a website that is used by interpreters all over the country as a resource for technical, religious, and science sign language interpretation needs. He was adept at interpreting for people who are deaf and blind and provided training on this unique kind of work.
David was in the process of revising his book on translating religious material into sign language. While I think he favored Jewish interpreting, he was not afraid to tackle other religious material and interpreted for many traditions. His spirit of helping other interpreters was exemplary. He will be sorely missed. I will miss him.

Bar-Tzur Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your father, David. He interpreted for me at Thomson Reuters for many years, but not that he was just one of my preferred interpreters, he was a wonderful person to talk to. I enjoyed chatting with him as well as hearing all his journey experiences and his involvement in the Jewish community. He and his sense of humor will be greatly missed!

For our dear David and to his children: David, you went into everything you did full-steam, and you excelled! Your interpreting of the 2008 High Holy Day services at Temple Beth Kodesh in Brighton, N.Y. was so wonderful, as it was whenever you interpreted. You interpreted both spoken English and spoken Hebrew into ASL so beautifully. Thank you. You will be sorely missed, but our lives are richer for having known you.

My sympathies to the family of David. He was a great person, yes, very dedicated to his job and yes, a "quirky" and sweet personality that defintely made him stand out above the rest.
David, may you find peace and happiness.

I was quite surprised to hear of David's untimely demise. He was a quirky, delightful, and ever creative person. I remember him from my days in Rochester, when he interpreted many a situation for me; and I also enjoyed our interactions in the Jewish community. He will be missed.
