David's mother Elsie told me 40+ years ago at David's memorial then as I chocked and words wouldn't come - " Sometimes there are no words, it's OK, I understand."
My heart and respect still goes out to Elsie, Darlene and all the family. David was a handsome young man who was a truest friend. I still will shed a tear from timeto time but I also will smile and remember.

I was David's neighbor, growing up across the street on Parma Center Road. My thoughts and prayers are with his brother and sisters. I remember us all as children. Whenever I think about Vietnam, I think of David. When I chaperoned a girl scout troop on a trip to Washington, DC, we found his name on the wall of the Vietnam Memorial. Whenever I am visiting family in Hilton, I will stop by and visit his grave. I am so sorry for his loss and I am so proud of my hometown, Hilton, NY and the way the people there have honored David. Welcome home and God Bless.

Peace and Grace for David's family.I have thought about David so many times during the last forty plus years. I was at A1, RVN when David died. We had been on several operations together prior to that time. Then I knew all about his family, friends and the name of his devoted dog. Unfortunately time has erased many of the specifics of these memories. But I do know he was a great guy - loved his family - and paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. Welcome home beloved soldier, friend, hero and brother - welcome home!!May God continue to love, bless and keep Davd's family in His Grace. LT.J. Robert Turnbull,Jr RVN '68-"69

To David's Family,
David and I were friends from Basic, through AIT,and flew out of Rochester together on our way to Nam and the 1/40th. There has been hardly a day pass that I do not think of him. We spent many days together at Fort Sill. Thank you Darlene for sharing his photos and info with me. Hope to come up to Hilton tomorrow. Eli

Lise, my heart and prayers are with you and your family. I thank God for David and his service. He is a hero, and I pray that your pride in that knowledge, and that he now rests in peace, will ease some of the sadness of his loss.
God bless you and your family.
