Fleischacker, Elizabeth A. "Betty"

Fairport: Sunday, August 14th, 2016 after a short illness at age 74. Predeceased by her mother & father, Agnes & Alfred Konieczny; mother- & father-in-law, Elizabeth & Joseph Fleischhacker; and brother-in-law, James Hyde. Betty is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rudolf "Rudy" Fleischacker; son, Michael (Colleen) Wojcik; daughter, Michele Fleischacker (Michael Bucholtz); grandchildren, Genevieve (Chris) D'Oro, Michael B. Wojcik and Michelle Bucholtz; great-granddaughter, Gianna D'Oro; sisters, Arlene Hyde and Diane (Tony) Cocilova; nephews, Jim, John and Sean; and many dear friends.

Betty loved to sing…she was a long time member of Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus (GVOC) and Holy Spirit Church Choir. She was the retired office manager for Doctors Walsh, Robischon and Sternberg. She was very well loved and everyone's friend.

Her family would like to thank Rochester General Hospital-Surgical ICU, Dr. Kukfa and the Leo Center for Caring for the kind and compassionate care Betty and her family received.

Her family will receive friends on THURSDAY, August 18th from 4-8 PM at the funeral home 1650 Empire Blvd., Webster. On FRIDAY, August 19th, please join her family at Holy Spirit Church, 1355 Hatch Rd., Penfield at 1:30 PM for her Funeral Mass. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Friends of GVOC, P.O. Box 177, Fairport, NY 14450 (www.gvoc.org) in Betty's memory.

I deeply sorry for your loss. I knew Betty when she worked at Dr. Sternberg's office. She was always so nice to me each and everytime I went there . A few years ago I saw her out and she remembered me. May God guide you through this time of sorrow and grief. God bless Betty .

I was so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She and her sisters were always dear to our family and all those years ago when Michael and Sean were so little they were all such an intricate part of our family. Rudy, Mike and Michele,
I was blessed to be a part of Betty's life. She was a constant inspiration of what's good in people and family. She was a beacon of acceptance, compassion and love for all. No matter the condition, after seeing and talking to Betty, you always felt uplifted by the experience. Also, time never seemed to matter with Betty...every time I saw her, she was always so warm and welcoming to me and my family....it was no different than the first day I walked next door and met all of you for the first time about 40 years ago! We are so saddened by her loss. We love you all!

I am deeply saddened to have lost the greatest friend anyone could ever have. Three years ago I joined GVOC and Betty went out of her way to make me feel welcome. When she found out I sewed handbags she convinced me to donate some to GVOC's Silent Auction which she coordinated for many years. She appreciated people's talents and was often their biggest cheerleader. I will miss her. My deepest condolences to Rudy, Michelle, and family.
