Francis, I was blessed to have known you. Your humble, gentle ways will always stay with me. The waters of Hidden Valley will always have a tiny ripple where you swam and I hope those of us that swam with you will never forget your love for others.

Regretfully, my wife, Mary, and I cannot attend the memorial services for my beloved Uncle Francis, due to pressing work demands in Michigan. However, I want to take this opportunity to share my feelings about one of the most honorable men I've had the privilege of knowing.

I believe every man wants to leave a legacy that lives beyond his presence on this earth. As far as I am concerned, he was successful in this endeavor.

I lost my father to an auto accident when I was six years old and he was 29. With two younger brothers, my mother was consumed with keeping a roof over our heads and working hard as a nurse to keep us fed and clothed. At the time, I had no appreciation for all her efforts nor did I realize the lack of guidance in my life; no one present in our daily lives with life experiences to say "No, don't do this or you shouldn't do that."

Fortunately, there were two uncles that exerted a positive influence that had a significant impact on shaping my life, my career and responsibilities as husband and father. Both Francis, my mother's brother, and Clark Pardee, my father's brother, provided role models that exhibited family values and caring for others that became ingrained in my personal characteristics over time.

Francis's input came in the form of lengthy letters, sharing personal experiences that were always
accompanied by a "moral to the story". Although in our ignorant youth, we often poked fun at the unnecessarily long manuscripts, the message seemed to stick.

I know that he still lives in me and the things I strive to do everyday and I believe his influnce will carry on to my offspring and the impact they have on others. I was blessed to have Uncle Francis as part of my life and his enthusiasm for life will be sorely missed. God Bless.

To My Dearest Friend Terry and Family, So sorry for the loss of your Father. All the great memories of Flint Street will always live on in our hearts. They were the best of times. We were so fortunate to have wonderful and loving parents, and now your Father is up in Heaven with my parents and many of the "Good Old Flint Street Family."

God will give you comfort and strength to get through this difficult time.

Love,

Anne

Condolence on Fran's death. Remember the good old days on Flint St. when we were all young and gay. There are fewer of us now but we still " remember when ". I offered up my Mass and Comunnion for him---and all of you tonight. I am going to Our Lady of Lasalette church in Canton, Ga. Kathy doesn't live far away. The boys are all over the map. Love you still. Jean Kuchman

Our Condolences, he was a fine and gentle person. My mother, his older sister, Elizabeth was always pleased to get his letters and kept a number of them. We always enjoyed their visits to Florida. We were thrilled that he and Josephine came to the family reunion in Huntsville, AL a number of years ago. That was the last time that Hickie, Margaret, and my mother were together.
