Helen Walters Obituary
DeLand, Florida:
1909-2008. Helen Gosnell Walters 98, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully March 25, 2008, surrounded by her family at the Hospice Care Center in Orange City, FL. Helen was born in Rochester, NY and moved to DeLand, FL. in 1978 from Canandaigua, NY. She also lived many years in Rush, NY.
She is survived by four children, Marilyn Chase (Selden) of Rush, NY, Frederick Walters, Jr. (Betty), Gretchen Davis (Gordon), and Blythe Thomas (Tom) all of DeLand, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothea Thatcher of Victoria. B.C. Canada. Husband, Frederick Walters, Sr. and sister, Margaret Twitchell of Rochester, NY, predeceased Helen.
Helen attended Cornell University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was active in the Cub, Boy & Girl Scouts, and 4-H. She was also active at the Churches in East Avon, NY and Rushville, NY. Helen was a member of the Glenwood Presbyterian Church.
Memorials gifts may be given to "The Hospice Care Center" of Volusia/Flagler, 1625 Veterans Memorial Pkwy., Orange City, FL. 32763. A celebration of her life will be held at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church, Glenwood, Florida on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11 A.M.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Helen. We ,many years ago, used to go Friday night with her and Fred Sr. for fish when Bud ran the Western Auto. She had a long and plentiful life.
