James D. Christian "Jim"

Chili - Thursday, January 24, 2019 at age 69. Predeceased by his parents, Anthony & Ruth; and brother, Gary. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; children, Nikki (Jamie) Johnson and Eric (Lisa); grandchildren, JJ, Nick, Elaina, Caiden and Mya; sister, Dr. Diane Christian (Bruce Jackson); brother, Robert (Maureen); sisters-in-law, Ann Christian and Betty Weber (Joan Lenhard); brothers-in-law, Tom (Sandy) Weber and Mark Weber; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Jim was an Army Veteran, retired firefighter from St. Paul Blvd. Fire District, a retired Town of Chili Fire Marshal, an active Chili volunteer firefighter from 1971 to the time of his death where he served many positions and achieved the rank of Deputy Chief. He was an avid golfer at Mill Creek and Cragie Brae.

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, Sunday 1-4. Funeral Mass, Monday 10 AM at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3000 Chili Avenue. Private interment will be held in the spring at Westside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research or Chili Fire Department.

My husband, Don, enjoyed playing basketball with Jim at the Westside YMCA. Don spoke of Jim often and Jim was fun to play with! He will be missed by his basketball friends.

Jim was a great guy. He will be sadly missed by the Fire service which such a large part of his life. I found him to be a big part of my Fire service memories. May God bless his soul.
