Janet Karz Obituary
Fairport: Passed away on February 14, 2015 at age 97. Predeceased by devoted son, Laurence, brothers, Arthur and Arnold Wasserman, and her former husband, Milton Karz. Survived by her loving sons, Roger (Maria), Robert (Myrna) and Richard (Julie) Karz; daughter-in-law, Anne Karz; grandchildren, Sara (Forest) Reid, Lisa (Michael) Kosoff, Jeffrey Ethan (Stephanie) Bull, Mirabelle, Alexander and Gregory Karz; great grandchildren, Natania, Avi, Wyatt, Clara and Ori; nieces and nephews, and her very dear friend and companion, Brian McDermott.
Janet was a graduate of Cornell University, a model and talented potter. During WWII she volunteered as a driver for the Red Cross and later at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. She loved the arts, films, theater, books, golf and travel.
A Memorial Service will be held on TUESDAY at 11:30 AM at Brighton Memorial Chapel, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. S). The family will receive friends at 1202 Fox Hollow in Webster on Tuesday, February 17 from 3-7 PM. Donations may be made to the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in her memory. Bob and Family,
Sue and I heard of your mother's passing while at our home in Florida. I am sure you know that we have a long and fond history of our interaction with Janet and will miss her as we do Mim. This is truly the end of a generation but the memories carry on and will continue to be meaningful to all.

Bob and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I fondly remember your mom taking care of our new born daughter and Saint Bernard when we visited at her home on Canandaigua lake in the fall of 1972, while we took a hike.
