John Wade Obituary
Victor: Oct. 21, 2008, age 71. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jane (Ruebens) Wade; son, Christopher Wade; daughter, Susan Wade (Deanna Semple); beloved grandchildren, John, Megan and Lilly; brother, David (Peggy) Wade; sisters-in-law, Ruth Wade, Doris Benderick and Janet (James) King; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues and cherished employees. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Brennan and brother, Thomas Wade.
Friends may call tomorrow (Friday) from 3-7 PM at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Boughton Hill Cemetery, Victor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Rd., Victor, NY 14564 or the Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corp Inc., 1321 E. Victor Rd., Victor, NY 14564.

I remember John when he worked for Colacino's in Palmyra, NY. He was a very friendly and helpful person. I know of no one that did not like him. When he decided to start his own market in Victor, many were sorry to see him go, but were happy for him in his new venture. My mother, Ann Wallace, would travel to Victor just to purchase her meat from John. She loved his personality and his expertise in the cuts of meat. I send my deepest sympathy to his family.

To the Wade Family, I just wanted to express my deep appreciation for the example that John set for the communities of Victor and Farmington. Through his hard work, commitment and dedication he lived the American dream of owning a small business and then watching it prosper and grow. He had a hand on the pulse and heartbeat of our communities and provided a service, a quality grocery store, that has served his patrons well. John will be missed as will his quiet strength. Dear Jane and family, I was so saddened to hear of my cousin John's passing. I still remember with fondness stopping into the store to see you both when I was visiting my mom. Will always remember with love the days we used to play "lead soldiers" together as kids. Too soon to leave us. My prayers and sympathy are with you all.

My condolences to Mrs. Wade, Chris, Sue and the family. I was a vendor for Stroehmann WNY who called on WADES for 8 years and will always remember John as a kind and caring man. He will be missed.

I wish with all my heart that I could be there with you today and tomorrow. Unfortunately I am having a medical procedure later this morning, which will keep me here in central Massachusetts recuperating over the weekend. Uncle John was so kind and quiet, generous and encouraging to me while growing up - I cannot express in words all that I feel and recall about my youngest uncle, gone too soon from this world. Thank you Susan, for pulling that 50th wedding anniversary celebration together a few years ago. It was the last time I got to see and speak with your dad, but such a happy occasion to remember forever.

To all the Wade family,
Just couldn't believe to hear that John had passed away. He seemed so young to me. At least compared to Ted and I.
As you know, for many years, Ted was your plumber and heating man. We both considered you people family as we watched your family grow and become such contributors to the grocery store he started.
Hard working is your family mantle and I know his children will continue because that is the way you were raised.
Yes, sadly Ted is gone too, 8 months today, but he enjoyed nearly 10 years more of life than John, even with only one lung for the past 23 years.
Now, I am in the sunny south, no more shoveling or icy roads to deal with. Just pretty hot in the summer, but the winters are wonderful.
Again, my deepest condolences.

We feel a huge sense of loss in Farmington. Mr. Wade has left a large impact on the area. As a consumer, I can say that Mr. Wad always had his customers in mind with the fairness of his pricing and the selection and quality of his groceries. Many thanks to Mr. Wade and best wishes to his family.

Dear Sue:
Even though the circumstances were not the best, it was great to see you again. I have such fond memories of evenings and weekends spent at your home all those years ago.
In addition to those memories, I will always remember the first time I saw your dad walk through the office door. I happen to be sitting at the front desk that day. He took his hat off, smiled and said hello. He gave me his name and who he was here to see and I responded with "I know exactly who you are!" (He really didn't even have to tell me his name I recognized him immediately!) Anyway, he looked at me rather puzzled; but when I reintroduced myself.... he smiled an even bigger smile and said "I remember you!" I couldn't believe it! It warmed my heart.
I hope you, your mother, your brother and the rest of your family can find comfort in the love, sympathy and prayers that are being extended to you during this difficult time. It is your father's warmth being returned.

Heartfelt Wishes To Tha Family of John. I worked for John at "Wades" whenPete was head of produce 20-25 years ago.a great man with a loving family. To the Family of Mr. Wade,
Mr. Wade gave my son his very first job as a teenager. Our family has shopped there for 25 years. I can't imagine walking into the store and not seeing Mr. Wade. My son learned a lot from him and he so respected Mr. Wade. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you.
