I often think of Malcomb and his love of dogs. When my dog does something amazing I am reminded of his courses at Osher about various dog breeds and their characteristics. I had a yellow Labrador retriever at the time I took his courses and learned that the most common dog in the US at the time was the Labrador retriever and with the most popular dog name Bella. My dog's given name was Bella and I adopted her from a farm and she was a great companion. I enjoyed working with Malcomb in presenting his courses and learned a lot more about dogs than I had learned after having 4 Boxers prior to Bella.

I still often think of Malcomb when I take my dog out to play since I really enjoyed his several classes at Osher about dogs. I have found my adopted dog, Cookie, a mix of chocolate Labrador Retriever and Sharpei, a great companion and quit friendly and smart. Malcomb's explanations of dog behavior often occur to me when I see what other dogs and Cookie do when I am out walking. He left some great memories for me which I will continue to recall thanks to his enjoyment of one of our favorite animal friends...the canine family, and his contributions to Osher for telling us about them.

So sorry to hear about Malcolm's death. Had not seen him in years . We grew up about a block apart in NYC. I went to Wells College never realizing he went to Hamilton nearby. Our parents were friends and we went to the same church. RIP.

Dear Anne,

I just learned of Malcolm's passing when I received the Sonnenberg Newsletter yesterday. I am so sorry that our world lost such a good person. I worked at Sonnenberg and Malcolm was a wealth of knowledge about non-profits and fundraising and truly, anything! What a legacy he leaves behind. May he be pain-free and painting and happy.

I was so sorry to hear of Malcolm's passing. I enjoyed painting with him at Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery over the last several years. I also remember him from my years at Constellation Brands when he called for wine donations for the hospital events. He always seemed to enjoy painting.

I met Malcomb as an Osher Member and worked with him to use the classroom audio-visual equipment. I enjoyed his courses about dog breeds and recognized his love of animals. He showed me photos of his most recent dog and it was clear that he really enjoyed his animal companion. My condolences to Malcomb's family members. I always enjoyed seeing Malcomb at Osher and having a conversation with him.

Malcom was a kind, compassionate, and generous man. Malcom is one of main reasons we adopted our dog over twelve years ago. He knew how important animals were to a family. This year, our daughters will hang the Christmas bells Malcom gave them on our tree as we do every year. This year, will make these bells even more special as we remember Malcom with our prayers and love. Jon, Cindy, Kristen and Jenny Hefti

Malcolm was an enthusiastic member of our book club. His command of history and literature always astonished me and we all looked forward to his comments. He was a true gentleman. Our club meets tonight and he will be sadly missed by all. Chris Latella
