Mark Thurston Obituary
West Irondequoit - Peacefully passed away on June 23, 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer (GBM) at age 63. Predeceased by his mother Diane Thurston, Brother Timothy Thurston and daughter Samantha Rose.
Survived by his wife Janet Taddeo, children Sierra Thurston (Lucas Miller), Anthony Thurston, Sophia Thurston and Alea Santana, grandchildren Nolan & Lennox Miller and Minka Malone, also the families of Joseph & Josephine Taddeo, and many lifelong friends.
Mark is a United States Marine. He led his life by its core values. Mark was proud of his 30-plus years with Fed Ex. He was devoted to his family and friends. A selfless man, who enjoyed family, friends, golf, football, fishing, cooking, entertaining, and reading. His physical and mental strength was admirable, along with courage. His new found grandfather hood was the added joy to his life. Mark is proud to leave behind the legacy of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed but cherished by all!
Calling hours will be Tuesday 4-8PM at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10AM at St. Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church (Rogers Pwky). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Mark's memory.

My heart goes out to the family. Not easy to lose a family member and friends are hard as well to lose.
