Callahan, Mary E.
Sun City, Arizona: 94, passed away on August 8, 2008. Predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years, Dr. Edward T. Callahan; daughter, Sheila Callahan; brothers, Friedrich Engelman, Niklos Engelman, Peter Engelman and sister, Otilie Gregory. Survived by sons, Brian Callahan (Carol Purdy) of Sun City, AZ. and Kevin Callahan (Judy Shapiro) of Montreal, Quebec; grandson, Daniel Callahan-Shapiro; sister-in-law, Ingrid Callahan of Peoria, AZ.; nephews, Peter Engelman (Oneonta, NY), Dr. Clare Gregory of CA. Robert and James Callahan of NY; nieces, Gail Lendt of MN, Marilyn Tallon of OH, and Margot Callahan of CT.
Worked as a registered nurse for over 60 years, and was active in numerous charitable organizations, including Sun City Library, United Way drives and Sun Health Services in Sun City. Helped found Sunshine Services to provide aid to those in need of medical equipment, and Meals on Wheels of Sun City.
Services were held in Arizona. Arrangements entrusted to Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sun Cities Four Paws Animal Rescue Center, P.O. Box 426 Youngtown, AZ. 85363.
