He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; 2 daughters, Janet (David) Putman, Lisa (William) Thornton; 1 brother, Egon (Joan); 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Lansberry, Andrea (Paul) Smith, Douglas Smith, Kelsey Thornton, Travis Thornton, Victoria Thornton; 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Sierra Lansberry, Joshua and Wesley Smith; several nieces & nephews. Retiree of Eastman Kodak, retired school bus driver for City of Rochester.
Friends may call at ARNDT FUNERAL HOME, 1118 Long Pond Road (South of Maiden Lane) on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. private Interment. Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 7:00 PM at Brighton United Church of Christ, 1095 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. Contributions to Brighton United Church of Christ.

I knew Rolf from driving school bus together and he ALWAYS had a smile...no matter how rough his day was. He will be missed but my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Mary and Family,
I send my love to you during this difficult time. I loved Rolf like another Dad. I loved his hug, a kiss, and a "how we doin". I will miss all that but will remember him with a smile. I will remember him holding your purse after church because you were in the choir and always saying how they never matched his shoes! He loved you and his family and now he's with safe in the arms of our Savior Jesus who he loved and served faithfully through his family and church. God Bless you and I'll talk to you soon.
