Sister Seraphine and my Mom, Mary Bauer Zentis, were best friends growing up on Westchester as children, continuing their close and spiritual friendship throughout their lives. As a young child, Seraphine, Pius, Concepta and Benita would visit our home in Rochester and entertain me and my younger brother........one of them pretending to speak Chinese! Her dedication and hard work with School of the Holy Childhood was epic - she was an Angel among us - and her legacy to all of us will live on. God Bless.

Sister Seraphine was part of my "family" the instant she met my aunt-Sister Pius Streb. It is so hard to not think of Seraphine or Conncepta or Benita without my aunt's Sister Pius following right behind them.
What a terrible loss for all of us left behind but what a wonderful celebration she is having.
There is just too much to write about this wonderful, sweet, funny, wise, and intelligent woman. I just hope that she now knows what an incredible impact she has made on so very many lives!
Please continue to pray for Sisters Pius and Benita, as well as the rest of the SSJ Family.
Rest in the peace you so very much deserve! Much love to you always!

I remember Sister Seraphine as the warmest and most soft spoken person I had ever met. I met her in the 60's when I was a student at Nazareth College. I would visit her at her work and she became my friend. I am sure I still have a note that she sent me to thank me for something. Rest In Peace Dear Sister.

Sr. Seraphine was a wonderful and exceptional Lady! She was a blessing to the students at Holy Childhood and so helpful as well. My sister went to Holy Childhood and Sr. Seraphine as well as all the teachers there were a tremendous positive influence in my sisters life. My parents thought the world of her! So very sorry to hear of her passing.
My deepest sympathy to her family and her Sisters of St Joseph family as well. God bless you all during this difficult time.

I remember Sister Seraphine as we called her back in the 50's as my Kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart. She was a wonderful teacher and had a great personality. I remember the day my mom drove her to the School of the Holy Childhood on Buffalo Rd and how nervous she was being so young to take on such a task. My mom reassured her she would do great and she did. Thank you Sr. Seraphine for being such a wonderful teacher and you will be sorely missed.
