We are deeply saddened by the news of your parents' sudden deaths.

Dear Stoler Family:

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mom and dad. Your family is in my prayers and thoughts. It is hard for me to even write this without tears in my eyes.

I have known your dad since we were teammates at UConn; and he was one of the first people I met at college. Our coach sent me to Harvey in order to connect with someone who would work with me to perfect my skills and learn the game. We spent countless hours working on skills, quick-sticking for the team record, and inventing crazy pick-ups and offensive moves. Over the years together we became close and I cannot express the deep connection I had with your father. He was just the most affable, friendly, and positive guy I had the privilege of being around. We played attack together, then coached the UConn freshman team together; and at the 50th Lacrosse Reunion we picked up right where we left off-playing behind the cage with me watching your dad assisting on a goal in the alumni game.

He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, occasionally sending me photos of some youth or high school lacrosse game, bragging about accomplishments, and generally being a promoter of the Stoler family! My wife and I were looking forward to them visiting us in Florida this winter. I am now so glad we made it to the lacrosse reunion last year. We had a great time spending time with your parents and catching up on family news.

Your dad's memory and legacy will not go unnoticed and celebrated. I will think fondly of him often. A part of who I am is attributable to Harv.

May God bless you and keep you.

Sincerely,
Bob Gus Gustavson

Jason, Adam and Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your parents were both remarkable people. Your mom was always so helpful when I visited the guidance office in high school, and I was very fortunate to have had your dad as a lacrosse coach in middle school and high school. Please know that your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Stoler Family, I've never met you, and I've actually never met your mother Sharon, but your father was someone I was fortunate to connect with at our pharmacy. Such a kind and helpful man, and boy did he love your mother! Our conversations often revolved around "homemade soup" that she and I apparently both enjoyed making regularly in our own homes. Harvey always told me that your mom made the best soup in the world. On the occasionally "soup day" in my house, if I happened to be going to the pharmacy, I sometimes dropped off a "soup care package" for him. He was always so gracious and kind. He would say "I'll make sure to take some home to share with my wife". I will miss seeing his smiling face at work and hearing him ask me "did you bring me soup today?" Your parents were wonderful people and so lucky to have one another. I wish your family peace in this time of sadness.

To the entire Stoler Family: I have so many wonderful memories of your parents. Sharon taught me so much about raising a family. Adam, Jason and Lisa I am 11 years younger than your Mom. When she would tell me stories about all of you, my jaw would drop as my kids were so much younger. Your Mom finally got to the point that when she told me something she would take her extended hand and tapped the bottom of her chin as to close my mouth! Sure enough my 3 had fun as you did and I was not in asas much shock! She gave me a lot of advice and I don't think she was ever wrong. I will miss both she and your Dad so much. I am happy they are together as I don't know how they could have gone on without the other. Special love to their family which was everything to them!

Jason and family. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I reflect on my mom's death and words spoke, death ends a life not a relationship. If we ponder on these words, we can take solace in knowing that although your mom and dad's earthly bodies are no longer with us, the relationships they built over their lifetimes will always exist.

Sending thoughts of deep sympathy and prayers for your family at this time of your tragic loss. Although words cannot heal the broken heart, love that you have shared and love that people send to you can help to bring healing. I knew Harvey for many years and worked right next to him for a few of those years. I will always remember him so fondly. He being the most wonderful man and by far my most favorite pharmacist to ever work with. I will cherish every memory and ever be so thankful that he was a part of my life. We never know how much we touch other people and what lessons they bring to us. I always think of Harvey as a very wise man in many, many ways. The most compassionate and friendly person I have encountered. I was blessed by his presence for just a short while compared to you, and can't imagine how you feel. The only words of solace I can offer is that the love that you shared all of your life is stronger than anything you could possibly know or even comprehend. It is that love that will carry you through this hard time and begin to heal your broken hearts. Remember, they are just a thought away. Listen in the breeze, or a smell that whifts by, or a memory that comes out of the blue. Or even sometimes lights go off and on or objects move. Those who pass into Spirit are truly not gone, they are just out of our human sight, vibrating on a higher level now, but nonetheless trying so hard to communicate with us to let us know they are alright. Let their love bless you as it always has. Send your love as well. With love all things are possible. Find peace in this for the days ahead.

While I am struggling to find the words, there is no doubt about the love and fondness that always wells up inside me with thoughts of Sharon and Harvey Stoler and their amazing sons and daughter. I had the privilege for many years, many years ago now, of spending time with and feeling as if I were part of this heartwarming family during the years of middle school and high school...they always made me feel as though I was part of their team. To this day, I can recall the comfort of the times when I was lucky enough to "hang out" with this tight-knit, easy-going, and humor-filled family. The calm, soft-spoken yet impactful nature of Mr. Stoler...the caring nature and generous spirit of Mrs. Stoler. Memories of time spent with them, and Adam, Lisa, and Jason will always be a part of who I am. I have missed them all for 20 years...and I will continue to miss them. May the love and kind energy of Sharon and Harvey wash their loved ones with comfort at this excruciatingly difficult time. Much love to you and your families, Adam, Jason, and Lisa.
May peace find you ere long.
