Shirley was a devoted supporter of the Rochester Carnegie Mellon Alumni Clan for years. She served as a board member as well as Treasurer for many years. In this role she served as a key link back to the University. She also received the CMU Distinguished Service Award a few years ago. Many alumni board meetings were held at her house and were all followed by great conversation among board members while they savored her terrific chocolate cake and coffee before heading back home. She will be greatly missed. I wish the best to her husband Steve and all her family. God Bless You All

Wendy and family, my sincere condolences. Wendy, I remember your harp playing and a concert, and assumed your Mom was a good influence in that. God bless her and your whole family. Steve

Mrs. Townsend was my typing teacher at Nazareth back in the early eighties. Such a sweet lady. My condolences to all her family and friends.
