William Messner Obituary
Webster - William R. (Bill) Messner, 86, of Webster, NY formerly of Venice, FL passed away on 04/27/2021. Bill was born October 2, 1934 and raised in Teaneck, NJ. He graduated from Teaneck High School and earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and a BS in Business Administration from Lehigh University. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.
Bill was predeceased in 2012 by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol (Guerber) Messner. He is survived by his 5 children Jim (Kris) of Webster, NY, Rick (Ann) of Penfield, NY, Tom (Kate) of Plattsburgh, NY, Linda (Joe) Aloi of Webster, NY, Mike of Rochester, NY, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Bill retired from Eastman Kodak in 1991 after 34 years of service. He was an active member at Faith Lutheran church in Penfield. Formerly a member of Lakeside Church in Venice, FL and St. Paul's in Penn Yan, NY. He was a musician and a lifetime jazz and sports enthusiast. After retiring, he volunteered as a SCORE Counselor in Penn Yan, was active in Lakeside Country Club of Penn Yan, NY, a Math tutor at Venice High School and Middle School, a volunteer for the Jazz Club of Sarasota, FL, and returned to playing softball in Venice Senior leagues.
The family of Bill Messner invites you to attend a celebration of his life on Sunday, June 27th at 1PM at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd, Penfield, NY. The family wishes for a private interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd, Rochester, NY 14625 or Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY, 14620.
