I was one of Bill's law school classmates. I knew him as a cheerful, pleasant man who was willing to take bold steps in pursuit of his convictions. I wish we had stayed in touch. I'm sorry he's gone.

I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Bill's passing. I was Bill's college room mate at Phi Tau Fraternity, Colgate University for nearly two fun-filled years, and thought of him as a brother. Not in the sense of the fraternity, but in the sense of a family. Bill was selfless, always willing to share and explore thoughts and emotions, and helped me to gain a better perspective of my own life. Although we did not keep in touch very much in later years, I have always missed his kind and reassuring words. My sincere condolences to the Nojay family, and Bill, please rest in peace.

Prayers for the Nojay family and Bill's many friends who will remember him with love. He took time to share his talents with many causes and while I knew him as a very young man out of law school, he always was willing to share his many talents even then with whoever needed them.

He was a good friend to many and his presence will be missed by all who sought his counsel.

May you find peace in knowing he made a difference.

Having worked with Bill on several causes that have affected the rights of the citizens of New York State and I can attest to the fact that he was the best legislator I have ever worked with. The last time I saw him he was the emcee for our ABATE of Monroe County Dice Run and spoke at the 585 Burger Bar where numerous candidates came to speak. He was always doing something for the causes and will be sadly missed by many. My sincerest sympathy to the family of a great man. Jeddy Tranquill treasuser of ABATE

I knew Bill Nojay as a kind and generous man whose remarkable intellect was always put to use serving others. He was passionate about the causes he believed in. And while I didn't always agree with his politics, I always voted for him - as he was one of the good guys in Albany. Rochester will miss his leadership in our community, but I will miss him most as a friend who could always be counted on to lend a hand when it was needed, for thoughtful advice when asked and always for a brilliant smile when greeting you. Rest in peace, Bill. My condolences to his family.
