Lisa Boylan
July 10, 1958 - September 9, 2023
Lisa Boylan, 65, of Milwaukie, entered God's kingdom on September 9th, 2023. She was born July 10, 1958, to Richard and Joan Rohrer. A loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Lisa is survived by her spouse, Brad; son, Kyle; daughter-in-law, Kelly; granddaughters, Evelyn and Margot; siblings, Todd, Elaine, and Jason; and many members of her extended family. Lisa met Brad while in high school and later married on Valentine's Day 1982. After, they spent the next several years traveling from coast to coast while Brad worked in minor league baseball. Shortly after being a part of the 1987 World Series Twins team, Brad and Lisa welcomed their only child, Kyle, in July of 1988. With this, they settled down in the Mid-Willamette Valley for the next 36 years, with the only exception being a few years in Chicago in the early 1990's. Her career endeavors were both diverse and numerous. She was a talented church musician, played both the organ and piano for more than forty years. She also was a passionate supporter and advocate for women's gymnastics, where she was celebrating her 50th year as a judge. She loved working with athletes of all ages, from those first starting in the sport to those competing at the highest levels of the NCAA. This includes several former and current Olympians. She was an advocate in the medical field and was passionate for helping individuals navigate the medical system, and medical insurance. She had been attending Portland Community College for her associate degree in Gerontology, at the time of her passing. As the oldest child of the Rohrer family, Lisa was often described as a second mother to her siblings. She embraced a caregiver role as she supported her husband in a variety of ways after his stroke in 1995. She also served as a caregiver for both of her parents until their passing and provided in-home childcare for her two young granddaughters. Lisa loved to travel and to experience new things. She often lived with the motto, "the answer is always no if you don't ask." She loved being with her granddaughters and teaching them new things and opening them up to new experiences. Lisa was the consummate entertainer that loved to have people over to share a meal and make memories together. She was the brightest light that could connect with anyone on a personal level and could make their day with a single conversation. We miss her so much and the world is just a bit dimmer without her.A memorial service will take place at 1pm on October 1st at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2650 NW Highland Dr, Corvallis, OR.

I´m so saddened to hear this news of Lisa and Joan. When I entered Jackson High as a Sophomore transfer from Michigan, It was like landing on the moon. Soon, I met Lisa. And what a fortunate girl I was. Lisa was a kind, bright, thoughtful and talented person. And that smile. Lisa´s smile was the kind that stretched from her forehead to her chin! She warmly took me to her home and church, surely the most friendly and mature girl ever. We lost touch many years ago, but Lisa has ever kept a spot in my heart. I know for sure many angels in heaven have embraced Lisa with loving arms.

I first met Lisa when she was a senior at Jackson High School in Portland. I was the new athletic trainer specialist for the district. My office was housed at Jackson. She inquired if I needed a secretary. She started working for me shortly after. Because of this you can blame me or credit me for her and Brad meeting. Brad was the intern athletic trainer from Portland State. Although, they would have met anyway since Lisa was on the gymnastics team, I still think they got together after she graduated because of me. We have been friends since. My wife Gerri and I will miss Lisa terribly! We can only say, Brad and family we share your pain.

Brad and Kyle and family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Lisa truly was a light to all who knew her. Her generosity of spirit and love of people had her opening her house to many during Balloon festival days. She wore her wisdom with a quietness and respectfulness. She was a joy to us. Thank you for sharing her with us. Ed and Connie Lenderman

I am absolutely heartbroken with the news of Lisa passing.
I will cherish all the memories here at the pool and her and I playing and singing together.
My deepest condolences to all of you.
