Cynthia Lee Goen Dale

Born September 20, 1962, Cynthia Lee Goen Dale graduated from Denton High School in 1980 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts from North Texas State University, a Master of Arts from Texas Woman's University, and a Master of Education from Texas State University. She was an avid and professional photographer, high school and college teacher and, most importantly to her, mother of three beautiful children - Schuyler Rose, Tyler, and Jesse Dale.

Cindy was a kind and gentle soul who always saw the beauty in the world and the people around her. Those of us lucky enough to call her daughter, sister, mother, wife, partner, teacher, and friend always left her company seeing the positive and possible rather than the obstacles and the shadows. She carried us to a higher sense of who we are and what we could be as individuals and as a community. We are all her legacy.

Cindy ended her battle with multiple myeloma Saturday, February 12, 2022 surrounded by family and friends in her hometown of Denton, Texas. She is survived by her mother, Mary Frances Garner, father and stepmother Carroll and Martha Goen, her three children Schuyler Dale, Tyler Dale, and Jesse Dale, their father Jim Dale, brother George Goen, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Jill Goen and their children, sister and brother-in-law Julie and Bob Seidl and their children, partner Jason Hawley and children, and numerous relatives. She will also be sorely missed by her 1980 DHS classmates, especially the foursome that will always keep her chair ready for the annual brunch.

A celebration of Cindy's life will be held on March 8 from 5-7pm at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton.
