Donald Richards Obituary

Donald "Donnie" Barnes Richards, 72, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Denton, Texas. He was born in Gainesville, Texas to Edward and Novela (Acree) Richards.

Donnie was a long-time resident of Denton and Corinth. He started in business with a pump truck working on oil and gas wells as Richards Well Service. He was also in the land development and construction business as DBR Construction in Denton.

He was a 20-year member of the Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, he dearly loved to hit a ball as he would say while golfing. He also enjoyed quail hunting with his nephew James. He loves his family and church.

Donnie is survived by his nephew, Jamie Richards and his wife, Silvia of Gainesville, Texas, nieces Cheryl Watts and husband Doug of Elkwood, VA, Cynthia Shell and husband Charles of Gainesville, and great-nephew Alan Richards of Sanger, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother John Edwards Richards, and his companion Kathleen Love.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 - 2:00pm at First Presbyterian Church of Denton, 1114 W. University Drive, Denton, Texas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.

Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

He will be missed and loved by many.
