Paula Loveless Obituary

Paula Jane Loveless, age 80, of Denton, Texas passed away November 17, 2024, after a brief illness. Paula and her four sisters were raised in Missouri by their mother, Florence Mae Burgener. After attending college at Texas Women's University, where she was President of the student body her senior year, Paula settled in Denton and owned the Shoe Shack on Fry Street for many years. She met and married Curtis M. Loveless of Denton, Texas and they celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary this year. Paula was an active part of the Denton Community, serving for many years with the Denton Benefit League, the Ariel Club, and the Parent-Teacher Associations for her children's schools. She was an integral part of the family enterprises, including tirelessly working for decades at real estate management and accounting for her husband's office. Paula enjoyed playing golf, creating art projects, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she taught to play darts and poker. Paula was a force to be reckoned with, and in all things, she did it her way (to paraphrase the great Frank Sinatra). She will be missed sorely by her extended family and many special friends. Paula is survived by her husband Curtis Loveless, her two children Darcy (John) and Alecia (Carla), her two grandchildren, Griffon and Sydney, two of her sisters (Judy and Jean), her brother-in-law Jim (Janet) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and two of her sisters (Nancy (Robert) and Janet).

At Paula's request, no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Denton Women's Club Building, 610 Oakland, Denton, Texas 76201. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
