Ronald Wayne Owens

Ronald Wayne Owens 74, of Aubrey, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday February 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ronnie was born March 3, 1947 in Green Valley (Denton County) Tx. to R.T. Owens and Lillie Belle (Darnell) Owens. He was married to Bonnie Eileen Sickles on March 7, 1969 in Denton, Tx. They would have celebrated 53 years together this year. He graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1965. Ronnie served in the U.S. Army in 1966-1968 in Germany. He then went to CCJC and graduated in 1972. Ronnie worked at Peerless Mfg. for 19 years until he decided to start his own business in 1984. He owned and operated Owens Welding Service from 1984 to 2015 which his son Steven was his right hand man and support in the welding business.

Ronnie was a member of Gateway United Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Ronnie and his wife traveled making a trip to Australia, Germany & France along with an Alaskan Cruise, plus several places in the United States.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Angela Owens of Carrollton, Tx., son Steven Wayne Owens( Stephanie) of Aubrey, Tx. Grandchildren: Taylor Rainey Deshazo, Chase Alvey and wife Morgan, Emily Owens and Ryder Owens & Brock Alvey, plus three great grandchildren, Tye, Talise & Jaxon Deshazo. Also, his brothers & sisters, Shirley Barrett of Chandler, Az., Charles (Bud) Owens (Evalois) of Aubrey, Pat Creglow (Fred) of Aubrey, Joe Owens (Sharlotte) of Pilot Point, Linda Hammett (Gary) of Aubrey, Roger Owens (Diana) of Green Valley, Michael Owens (Paula) of Slidell and sister-in-law Marge Sickles of Denton, plus many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents R.T. & Lillie Belle Owens, sister Dorothy Bothwell, brothers Richard Taylor & Gary Owens.

PaPa loved and was loved well by his grandchildren & great grandchildren. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 18th from 6:00-8:00pm and funeral will be on Saturday February 19th at 10:00 am officiated by Pastor Buddy Owens (brother) all at Gateway United Baptist Church 2401 N. Bell Ave. Denton, Tx. 76209 Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Danny Owens, Darrell Owens, Chrystopher Owens, Chris Owens, Craig Stanton and Cory Winten.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Cardwell, Jerry Flowers, Chris Alverson, Roger Daly, Jim Gates, plus Army Buddies: Keith Neitch, Kenneth Cox and Ronnie Smith.

Family would like to thank Dr. Mohammad Qasim and his staff plus Thousand Oaks Hospice for all their care during this time. In lieu of flowers family has asked your donation to the Pancreatic Research or charity of your choice.
