Dunlap, Bradley
Brad
5-21-1983 - 8-28-2022
Major - United States Marine Corps

Major Bradley Patrick Dunlap, United States Marine Corp. passed away at his home in Newport, North Carolina on August 28, 2022.

Brad was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 21st, 1983. His family moved to Golden, Colorado in August 1998 and he graduated from Golden High School in 2002. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the USMC and, while serving in Japan, Brad was selected by the Marine Corps to enter the Officer Candidates Program and graduated as a Second Lieutenant from the University of Colorado where he met his first wife and fellow Marine Samantha Martinet and gained a stepdaughter, Amara. Brad and Samantha had two daughters Jaycee and Kirra. He served his beloved country and his fellow Marines with devotion to duty in places such as Japan, Norway, Afghanistan, and with the United Nations in West Africa. Brad married Hailey Polombo on June 25th, 2020 and gained a stepdaughter, Helena. They have since lived in Newport, North Carolina where Brad was a Major with the Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 (MWHS-2) at Cherry Point, NC.

All who knew him will always remember him as a caring husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, cousin, nephew, and great friend and patriot. We have lost Brad way too soon but the heavens have gained a bright light and shining soul.
His wife Hailey (parents-in-law Heather and Michael Polombo), daughters Jaycee and Kirra, step-daughter Helena, mother and father Susan and Thomas Dunlap, brother Joseph (son Isaac and wife Elizabeth), and sister Emily (son Colton, Matthew Snyder and stepsons Jonathan and Aiden) survive Brad.

There will be a memorial mass for family and close friends at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7240 W 12th Ave., Denver, CO on Saturday September10th at 12:30 pm.

A memorial service with honors and burial will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC on a date to be determined.

Dearest Family,
To say that every person who ever wore the Marine Uniform is Bradley´s family is not cliché. Every Marine everywhere, both active and retired, is now standing with you all to help shoulder the loss of your loved one.

Whether having met him in person, virtually, or not at all, Bradley is, was, and forever will be a special person to millions! Please know you have my most sincere condolences .

R.I.P Devil Dog, it was an Honor to Serve with you and I truly appreciated your dedication and enthusiasm to making the Next Generation of Marines while we served together at Idaho. Your candor and willingness to learn was admirable and I know that your Marines will continue to serve Proudly and Honorably as you did.

Dunlap was a motivator. He wouldn´t let you feel down. A fun guy to be around on and off duty . Have good memories of him from South Carolina and Japan. Now he´ll be guarding heaven´s gates. RIP brother.
