David Barry Obituary

Barry, David
Dave
06/27/1949 - 04/15/2023

On April 15th, David "Dave" Barry died in Denver Colorado after a long battle with cancer. He was 73 years old. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginger), his 2 daughters Amanda and Megan, his sister Margaret (Barry) Aguilar of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis (Frank) Barry and Clella Barry.
Dave was born in Denver, Colorado and was a 3rd generation Denverite, his grandfather came to Denver in 1899 from Nebraska. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1967. When his draft lottery number came up, he went into the army infantry and served honorably in Vietnam. After his discharge, Dave married Ginger in 1972. They welcomed their daughters Amanda and Megan in the years shortly after. Dave was an avid photographer who grew his hobby into a profession. He developed a business which produced print and media advertising with a focus on the aviation industry and commercial photography. During the 1990s he became the president of the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. He taught photography classes at Red Rocks Community College. His photographs of the mountains he loved were featured in several community exhibitions. He is remembered with love by many people. The family asks that donations be sent to Food Bank of the Rockies or Doctors Without Borders in lieu of flowers.
