There have been few people in my life that I have held in as high esteem as David. I first met him even before I came to work for what was Colorado Music Network in Denver in 1970, and although I left Denver in 1974 David and I stayed in touch all these years. I have many memories of him, such as the need to never pause during a telephone conversation or he would think you were through and hang up! David gave me encouragement and support whenever I needed it. I will miss him greatly.

David and I "met" when I began researching our shared Niles ancestors. (His mother and my grandfather were siblings.) This contact also enabled me to get to know Lu-Gray. Over the few years that David and I corresponded by e-mail and telephone, he and Lu-Gray became valued friends. I will miss his wit, his warmth and his courage.

I worked with David at Comcast Sound in the mid 80's. I had moved from Indiana and spent a couple of years in Denver attempting to mature. A true gentleman, his ability to charm the socks off of people always amazed me. I will miss his quick wit and humor. Our dinners back then were always greatly appreciated as were the email and phone conversations we have shared since. He took time to talk with me and his wisdom was not wasted.

Here's to a great soul!

Commander - rest in peace, my friend.

"D.C.", as I knew him, jokingly referred to me as his "kissin' cousin." I knew him to be a fine, interesting, witty and generous man full of humorous family lore! I will treasure our several family dinners with him as well as our e-mail correspondence in the past 8 years. I send love and compassion to his dear "princess", his loyal canine companion in his later years. - Mrs. Doolittle

David was my friend and neighbor for many years at The Shores. In 1987 I moved to Florida but we still kept in contract via phone and E Mail. He was a great guy. I shall miss him. I wish I could attend his last rites. My best to his family.
