I'm so sorry I'm too late in finding Deedra. She and I ended up being roommates on a Charles Swindoll Alaska cruise some years back when each of our traveling partners cancelled at the last minute. We were the same age, the same weight, the same height and her name was Deedra and mine Deena! We became fast friends..I had been involved in missions and was getting ready to embark on a medical career (I'm now a PA). She was an RN getting ready to head to the mission field. She and I stayed in touch for some time but through a number of moves I lost her address. She was on my mind today so I tried to find her online...I'm so sad that I won't get to talk to her or see her again in this lifetime. But I rejoice knowing that she's with our Lord and I will indeed see her again!

Deedra and I were in marching band together at Bear Creek. We had a lot of fun and laughs together. But I will always remember her smile and her positive attitude. I ran into her at a mutual doctor's office a few years ago and she told me how sick she was. She was still smiling, and she was joking about how she could "go poof" (pass away) at any time. I told her not to "go poof" too soon because the world needed her. I know she is sitting right next to God and now I know I have a new angel who watches over me. Even though I didn't see her often, I will never forget her. The news of Deedra's passing away has moved me and the world is a different place without her in it.
