I just learned of Dinos passing and I send my condolences. Dino gave me my first job in 1967. So many fond stories I rmember - the work, pizzas, wine sundays, the fire, the graduation party he gave me - many good times with Dino. He treated me like a son and always remembered me later in life. Dino will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I am very sad to hear of Dino's passing. My family has been enjoying Dino's since they opened. My parents went there on dates when they were teens, I've celebrated every Birthday there as have my children. Dino was always very friendly and peronable with his costomers. He will be sadly missed. Our Prayers are with the family.

In addition to all the great high school memories at Dino's after football and basketball games, Dino gave me my first real job, washing dishes and bussing tables when I was 15...far too many years ago. I've gone to Dino's every time I get back to Colorado; ran into Judy a couple times, but sadly I never caught up with Dino. Now it's too late.
Thanks for all the great food and memories Dino...your legacy lives on.

We started eating with Dino when he was in Aurora. My parents kept the card he sent after they moved to Lakewood and he opened at Kipling and Colfax. It was for 10% off on a meal.

I grew up in Lakewood Dino's was part of the family just like Philnor was. I remember Dino bringing pizza to Philnor when they were closing. Dad never had pizza delivered to the house because nothing was as good as Dino's even if we had to go and get it. I am sure you all will miss Dino just as I miss my folks. The Lakewood families will never be the same. Bless all of you

Jeannene, My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family. When Mark and I came to Colorado in July 2011 you made us feel very welcomed. Dino lightened my fathers (Jerry) stay while he was here. The dinner we shared with you and Dino made us feel like family and appreciated it very much.

My family started going to Dino's in the middle 1960's. It was always a favorite. We enjoyed seeing Dino as he was always working hard but never to busy to say hello. Only my sister and I remain and both of us live in states other than Colorado. But when we are back "home", we always meet our friends at Dino's. It is a gathering place for so many through the years. I'm glad the DiPaolo family keeps the tradition going. My best wishes to all of you during this difficult time. Just know that Dino and his family have brought a lot of joy and fond memories to many other families through the years.

A wonderful man. I have fond memories of Dino. I ate my first pizza at Dino's and make sure I always return for another pizza when I come back through Lakewood every couple years.
Great restauranteers have several abilities that distinguish them from the average restauranteer...they remember all their regular customer's names; they love the business; they love their family; they are always there to greet their friends; they serve a great meal. Dino was all of this and much more.
A very special man.
Other members of the DiPaolo family touched my life in a very positive way in high school and beyond

Dear DiPaolo family,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I had worked for Dino in the 70's and also was my first job. He was always there with a smile. Even after I had quit and we would run into each other he knew who I was and he would ask me if I was still changing diapers. My whole family would come to dino's and he would come and talk to my nieces and nephews when they were much younger. We always enjoyed his company. Dino had a big heart!! He will surely be missed!!!!

Dear Jeannene, Judy, Natalie, Theresa & families,
Dino was an inspiration to everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Growing up with the DiPaolos I have many fond memories of times together, and my regular diet of pizza burgers & pepsi when my dad owned the Conoco station where McDonald's now stands at Kipling & Colfax. His kind heart and warm smile was an example to all of us about how a life should be lived. My family and I will miss him dearly.

Condolences to the DiPaolo family I grew up in Lakewood in the 70's and have been eating Dino's pizza for over 40 years. No matter how far away I moved, I still made it a point to drop in at least once a year just to soak up the wonderful food and family ambience. I was sad when Ramon's closed, but am sadder still at this loss of such a terrific man. I have many wonderful memories of friends and family gatherings and celebrations.

Jeri and I have been going to Dinos since 1966. We still get pizza every Tuesday night from Dinos, and it is the same delicious high quality pizza that Dino insisted on having. He was such a good friend and neighbor to John and Peg Toteve, Jeri's parents. Every time I see a nice flower garden, I will think of how Dino loved to spend time making sure his outside flower gardens reflected his pride in everything he did. He will be so greatly missed. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Judy Duren & Mrs. Dino (Jeannene) and the rest of Dino's family. Your presence will be sorely missed. I will always remember how he'd take 5 or 10 minutes to sit down and chat with us every time we'd come into the restaurant. His thoughtfulness will never be forgotten when he paid me a visit in the hospital with a pizza and macaroni after an accident I had 10 years ago. Thank you Dino for caring and for your friendship. Dear Family - I am sad to hear of your Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather's passing. I worked for him in high school in the 80s and will never forget the little projects he had me help him with between the 3 restaurants and the yogurt shop. He taught me how to make my first pizza and I'll never forget his lessons on how to treat the customer right. I'm glad my parents still live close by so I can come get a pizza when I return home for a visit. Thanks Dino, I'll miss you!

Judy, and for all of Dino's family...we are so sorry to hear of Dino's passing. He's been an outstanding leader in Lakewood - and both Mike and I have been "customers" since that very first year, 1961. Dino and my Dad (Vance Wells)and Grandfather (Cyrus Creighton)worked together on merchant issues - and until my cousin Darlene Ground's passing - Dino remained a true friend to her and the family. What a wonderful man. Celebrate how much he gave to so many. You've each been blessed to have had him so long.

Working at Dino's in the mid-1960s when I was in my teens had a tremendous impact on my life. Dino offered jobs to young people like me who were very "wet behind the ears" and he helped us to become productive workers in the restaurant business. He set high expectations for the work that needed to be done to produce a high quality product for customers. If those expectations were not met, he clearly let us know and demonstrated how to do a particular thing correctly. It didn't matter if the task was bussing tables, washing dishes, making pizzas, cooking sauces, making salad dressing or cleaning the stainless steel hoods over the pizza ovens. It was important that all of those tasks be performed at a high level. Dino also offered praise for a job well done! Those lessons stuck with me and helped me to be successful throughout my life and career.
My condolences to Dino's wife, Jeannene, and the rest of the DiPaulo family, friends and customers of Dino's Italian Food.

Our family is very sad to hear of the passing of Dino. My husband and I have enjoyed dining at Dinos since we were small children, and have passed this on to our children. Dino was always there greeting his guests - paying special attention to the kids. There were many times when we were picking up a to-go order that he would hand us a pie or some of the home-made bread. He will be missed!
