Dorothy Ordelheide Obituary

Dorothy Lucille Fults was born January 21, 1919 on the family farm near Beaver City, Nebraska. She was the second of three children born to Lindsey O. Fults and Verda Grace (Weaver) Fults. She graduated from the 8th grade and then attended Beaver City High School. In the spring 1937 she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she was in nurses training. While living in Denver, Dorothy met her future husband, Manford A. Ordelheide. They were married on Mother's Day, May 12, 1940. They were also to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary together. The family grew to include Franklin, Connie, Janet and Cinde. While the children were in school Dorothy was a stay at home mom. Her first job was as a Dental Office Manager for Dr. McKelvey. When he retired she went on to work for several other Denver area dentists. She enjoyed traveling and joined Friendship Force, which allowed her to travel with a group, and stay in family homes in different countries. Her passports have stamps from all around the world. Dorothy was always proud of her Nebraska Homesteader heritage. She served as President of the Captain Miles Standish Chapter of Colonial Dames and was Treasurer for USD 1812, and was a State Chairman for the Colorado DAR. She held memberships in the Jamestown Society and Daughters of the Colonists. Family Memorial Services will be held at Crown Hill Memorial Garden in Denver, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her honor to: Kuna Vana Childrens Home in Zimbabwe, Africa. Address: LAF, Kuna Vana, 6200 W. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO 80227. Donations online at, www.kudavana.org Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Manford A. Ordelheide; Her sister, Helene Fults and an infant son, Manford A. Ordelheide Jr. Dorothy is survived by her companion, Phillip Galton; Her son, Franklin C. Ordelheide; Her daughters, Connie C. Newton, Janet K. Wade, and Cinde L. Ordelheide; Her brother, K. Dale Fults; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
