Hard to believe it has been ten years since E.C. Passed. We go back 45 years. I was just looking at his book the other day, and am glad I have it. Best wishes to his family!

E.C. was such a great inspiration as a teacher. He taught me so much and truly helped me grow as an artist during my years in his classes. He was always so positive. I will never forget him and his mark will always be on my art and in my heart. Chelli Schmac (Morrison

E.C. was a wonder member of the printmaking community. It was always a delight to speak with him and his students at our conferences. I will miss him and my heart goes out to those of you who knew him best.

My condolences to E.C.'s family. I will miss his unbelievable energy and positive attitude. I only saw E.C. at conferences, but every encounter was wonderful. I know that he will be missed terribly by family, friends and current and former students.

EC, You were a master at your craft and I learned much more than printmaking from you. Patience, kindness, and humor are part of your ever-lasting charisma. I feel blessed to have known you, and saddened that I can't have more time with you. Thank you, and may you rest in peace.

E.C. truly will be missed, He gave me some of the best advice that allowed me to grow as an artist and a person. I really attribute my success and continued growth in part to his prodding and insight. He saw something in me that I did not, just a few months ago when I saw him last he was still prodding me. I can only hope to pass something that precious along to one of my students one day.

Like everyone hear E.C. touch me as well. I was a design student @the time I took a print making class. What I learned through his insights taught me more about myself as an artist then I had learned from anyone up to that point in my life. I took those words to heart and have pushed myself farther and become an artist in every sense. He really sparked something inside of me, the last time I saw E.C. he was still prodding me to make prints. I'll never forget the advice he gave me, I hope I can do the same for one of my students one day.

I knew E.C. for two years as a temporary faculty member at MSCD. He was truly a kind and gentle person and his students thrived under his guidance. Upon hearing of his passing I felt as though I had lost someone who was very close to me even though we were just colleagues for a short time. His passing is a great loss for the Art Department and my heart-felt condolences go out to his family and all who were touched by this wonderful man and teacher.

Mr. Cunningham (I never got used to calling him Eldon or E.C. as he would always insist upon) was my best friend's dad. I didn't know him as well as I would have liked to. I live up the street from the Cunninghams, so often on an early morning I would look out and see Mr. Cunningham jogging by, and he would wave to me. He would laugh when I called Allison "Mom". Kevin, you and your family have my deepest condolences, please know that I am here for you. E.C., you will be missed.

E C was one of the greatest teachers I ever had. He was definately a thorn in the side of those who thought they had chosen an easy art class. He really had a passion for what he did and wanted you to as well. R.I.P. Chief.

This is such sad news! E.C. was my best professor at Metro in the late 80's. He was my greatest mentor and a staunch supporter of my aspirations in printmaking. It was because of E.C. that I became a Master Printer at Tamarind Institute - the proudest achievement of my life. He was a wonderful, kind person, an inspired teacher and gifted artist. All these years I have counted him as my friend and one of the best people I've ever known in my life. The world is a much less wonderful place for the loss of E.C. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and son and all of his family and friends. E.C. I am honored to have known you and I will miss you greatly!

I had the opportunity to meet E.C. in Texas during one of his openings. We had a great conversation about his work and other interests.
What a wonderful person. My players and thoughts are with the family at this time. My God comfort and bring peace to them.

I was a student at Metro in 1986 and E.C. reached out to me when my brother died suddenly. He wasn't even my professor, he just saw someone in pain. My thoughts are with his family.

E.C. touched many and did his very best to live his life for his students and others. His passion is unmatched in the art world. His charisma was charming, his demeanor was challenging, and his spirit was lively. For those who knew him know now what this world is going to be missing, and will never be able to replace.
