Eric Palaro Obituary

PALARO, ERIC "NUTT" Captain, U.S. Air Force, 26 At rest December 4, 2002. Survived by his beloved wife Michelle (Nee Viano) Palaro; mother Barbara (Nee Downey) (Steven) Carlton; father Paul Palaro; one sister Pamela Palaro; step-sister Crisandra (Tim) Green; step-brother Justine (Sueanne) Carlton; grandmothers Lillie (Late Oren) Downey and Patricia (Late Gordon) Palaro; and also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eric earned his wings in Undergraduate Pilot Training and upgraded to Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals at Columbus Air Force Base, MS. in 1999. In 2000 he went to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, AZ for his initial A-10 qualification course, where he graduated with "Top Gun" honors. Eric and Michelle were married on March 17, 2001. From Korea, Eric and Michelle came to the 81st Fighter Squadron Fighter, 52nd Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, GE. Here, he held position of Chief, Mobility Officer. Promoted to Captain in 2002, Eric's awards and decorations include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Aerial Achievement Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Air Force Longevity Service Award, and The Air Force Training Ribbon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a memorial fund established in the name of Captain Eric Palaro at the Community Bank, Spangdahlem AB, Germany for the American Cancer Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, near Ingalls Ave., Joliet, IL. (815)722-0524 from where services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 9:30 a.m., to St. Anne Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Visitation and Video Tribute, Wednesday 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
