Evelyn "Joann" Jordan Linder of Overland Park, KS peacefully entered eternal rest while surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Joann was 88 years old.

She was born January 2, 1933 in Neodesha, KS to Edwin L. Jordan and Eula E. (Anderson) Jordan.

Joann was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters: Shirley M. Jordan and Phyllis E. Jeffcott, her brother-in-law Donald C. Finley (Marilyn) and of course her two cats; Whoopie and Voodoo.

After graduating from Neodesha High school in 1951, she proceeded on to study Journalism at KU.

Joann spent the majority of her career with TV Guide magazine as an editor for 36 years. Joann had an incredible command of the English language and she liked to share it! She loved jazz music and CNN and was always quick with her wit.

After she retired, she donated her time and talents by volunteering for Catholic Charities and Safehome, a Domestic Violence Shelter. She also spent volunteer time helping others learn to read.

She is survived by her sister Marilyn Finley, her nephew, Jordan C. Jeffcott, nieces; Jennifer Clark (Steve), Maressa Finley-Sinclair, and Erica Finley (Kathi). She is also survived by several cousins and long-term friends as well as her beloved cat Sydney.

Joann donated her body to the KU Willed Body Program. No services are planned at this time.

Joann was a very important person in my life. I am so thankful that I got to meet her and spend some time together. My condolences to her famiy and her beloved Sydney.
