Gene was a classmate at Centennial High School in Pueblo. I saw him last many years ago on a stopover in Denver. He hadn't changed from
1955 - always had a smile and good word for everyone. My sympathies to his family. God Bless.

Gene’s legacy is the opportunity he provided hundreds of people. Providing the opportunity did not guarantee success. In fact he tagged my opportunity with the phrase “and if we survive”. Opportunity nevertheless was Gene’s currency. Like planted seeds, some thrive and many fail but those that “survived”, flourished and will recall that occasion when Gene opened the door. Even those who did not flourish benefited greatly from the opportunity to succeed.

I had the rare pleasure of knowing Gene for the last 30-plus years. He was the ultimate salesman, and the common thread that everyone knows about Gene - he was the perfect gentleman at all times who loved his family and wasn't afraid to show it, and the most loyal friend possible. He was simply the best!!

Gene was my first GM when I started at Stevinson Toyota. He always referred to me as "Parts". To this day, I don't know if that was just his nickname for me, or if he didn't remember my name.........Gene to me was always the epitome of class in the car business. He will be very much missed.

Rosmarie, Jimmy and Gena. I worked with Gene 20 years ago and we reconnected over the past four years. He was always positive, upbeat, and a people person. He also loved to brag about his kids....."did you know that Jimmy did this" or "Let me tell you what Gena is up to." Gene left a lasting impression on the people that met him. I will miss connecting him. My prayers go to your family during this period of loss. Phil Sura

Many, many great memories. He was more of a friend than just a boss. I worked for Gene, on & off, six times from 1973-2004. He called me in July & I travelled from Florida to see him this August; we spent an afternoon on his front porch sharing some happy memories.
His love for his friends and especially for his family always impressed me. I feel very fortunate to have known Gene and am glad that I was able to tell him that I love him. My condolences to Rosemarie, Jim, and Gena. He will be missed & remembered.
