To me Grant was so unique that I truly believe there will be no one like him ever again. He was my close friend who was always looking out for me and I'm really privaledged to have known Grant. I will always remember the great times we had together. I know in my heart that he is still looking out for me and will continue to be there through good times and bad for all of us. My deepest of sympathies go out to Mr. and Mrs. Benedict and Ellen for their loss. My heart goes out to them as well as my thoughts and prayers. I'm honored to have known the great Grant Benedict and will miss him greatly.

Grant was my best friend, the brother I never had. His friendship means so much to me, he made my life better. His loyalty to friends and family is unmatched. His smile could light up a room, and his sense of humor will live for ever.
Linda, Norm, and Ellen I am so sorry for your loss, Grant will be missed very much, the world lost a great man.

Grant's passing was so sudden, I think that's what makes it so difficult. He was a tremendous person with an even bigger heart. Although I didn't know him as long as most of you, he extended the bond he had with Jim to me, which made him like a brother. I miss his smile and his big strong hug so much! He was Roghan's godfather, and loved her before she was even born, and she will learn to know what a wonderful person he was.

I wanted to add this poem to the guestbook. My grandfather wrote it for when he passed away. I meant to bring it to read at the memorial but forgot.
Immortality
Do not stand on the shore and grieve for my going, or weep for the loss.
My physical ashes are there, but my spirit soars with the jet stream embracing earth.
I am the buds of sweet spring rebirth.
I am the soft rains and the sparkle of a million snowflakes drifting down on your face.
I am perpetual and eternal.
When you enjoy the bright sunshine on seashore sand, I am in the caressing waves.
My soul is reflected in the quiet flight of the sandpipers dashing to new prospects.
I am the sunshine on mountain meadows, the verdant trees, and swaying flowers.
Their fragrance is my breath wafting in the vapors of life searhing for loved ones.
As you awake to each new day, reflect on our love and shared treasured moments.
Recall the many pleasurable events in our lives, stifle the sad ones.
As you awake each day to the morning sounds, thank our creator for blessings and keep the memory of our shared existence safely enfolded in your heart.

I was very surprised and saddened to hear the news of Grant's passing. Grant was like a brother to me and was there for me so many times, whether good or bad. No matter what he always had a smile for everyone. That is the thing I will miss most. I am just happy that I had the time that I did to share with him and that he met my boys before he went.

Dear Linda, Norm, and Ellen,
Thank you so much for allowing Stevi and me to visit Grant in the hospital. We loved him so much and it meant so much to my family. He was Jim's best friend and like a brother to my children. He watched over my daughters just like a big brother would do. He was like my son as well. He never forgot my birthday and would always come by with a gift and a hug. He will be greatly missed. Thank you for sharing such a caring and loving person with all of us that had the priviledge to know Grant.
With Sympathy,
Linda Sellers
