To Curtis and all of your family,
Even though I didn't have the opportunity to met your mother, I feel as though I did. From all of the beautiful stories I've heard of her, after meeting such wonderful people such as yourself, your sister Adriann, and your daughters, I truly believe that you all were touched by an Angel, whom I believe was, and is God's angel... Mrs. Iris Dotson. When times seem hard as time goes on, just remember to call her name and she will show you, she will always be right there. God bless to you all.

Adriann, Alan, Carla, Tuf, and families,

People don't talk about the soul very much anymore. It's so much
easier to write a resume than to craft a spirit. Iris had SOUL!! Here is Iris' resume: she was a good mother to four children, and superb grandmother to her six grandchild plus my two children! She never let her profession stand in the way of being a good parent, grandparent, friend and/or role model! Iris showed up, listened, and laughed! She was a good friend to ALL her friends and family and they to her. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around. Iris did! It is so easy to exist instead of to live. Learn to live, learn to love the journey, not the destination. Iris learned that it is not a dress rehearsal, and that today is the only guarantee you get. Iris learned and knew how to look at all the good in the world and tried to give some of it back because she believed in it, completely and utterly! I try to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned from her. I want you to know that my family and I will miss her very dearly and all that she gave of herself. She will be forever held close within our heart and most importantly our SOULS! Our prayers and love will be forever with each of you! Love you all very much! Geneice, Art, Darris and Bibiana (The Brame Family).

As Iris's Granddaughter I'd like to say thank you to everyone for your kind words. My grandmother was a beautiful woman through and through. I know she's watching over me and my family, I'm privileged to have known that kind of soul.

To my wonderful friend Adriann,

Although I did not get the opportunity often to see your mom, I already knew she was a wonderful lady from the day I met her awesome daughter. You are a true reflection of her and even though I know you will miss her presence here on earth, and she gets a chance to experience heaven before we do, when you really start missing her, just look in the mirror and know you reflect her spirit and her joy. You are a blessing and a joy just like she was. May God continue to strengthen you and your family everyday, and just know you can wait with anticipation for the day you can be with her throughout eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! With much love!

Adriann & family,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I know there is no bond as great as that between a parent and child. Please let me know if there is anything John II or I can do to help during this time. Just give a call or drop Dawn off if you want.

I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of Iris E. Dotson. Almost twenty years ago we worked together with Annette 2 Cosmetics. Iris was always upbeat and positive!
May it comfort her family to know that others are thinking of them at this difficult time.

Adriann,
You spoke many times of your mother and I know at this moment the pain of this loss is so great, but the power of God, Prayers, Family and Friends will help ease some of your pain and help you get through this time. You will look back and remember all the special times you had while your Mom was here. It's amazing that even though you are feeling so much pain right now,you will be able to sit back and laugh at the funny things you remember about your Mom. Good memories will last you a lifetime. Love to You and your Family.

Iris is the most elegant, fun loving and beautiful woman I have ever known. Her smile and laugh were unforgetable. You always knew when she entered a room. She is a lady that will never be forgotten. Her presence in this world will be sorely missed by children, family and friends.
